Prifio
Prifio Beta Terms
This is a draft
Skeleton for legal review — not final terms
(to be confirmed)
Version 0.2 · 2026-10-05 · Status: Draft for founder review
These are the terms for using Prifio during the invite-only beta. They're written in plain English on purpose. Where something needs a lawyer's precision rather than plain words, we've flagged it rather than guessed.
1. Who provides the service
Prifio is a trading name of SectorSMART Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales, company number 17047477, registered office 95 Carlton Meadows, Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0QW. In these terms, "we", "us" and "Prifio" all mean SectorSMART Ltd trading as Prifio.
2. The beta
Prifio is currently in beta: invite-only, and free. That means:
- We may change features, add them, remove them, or pause the service, with notice where we reasonably can.
- We don't promise a particular level of availability during the beta — this is an early-stage product, and we're honest about that.
- Nothing in this section overrides the data protection commitments in our Privacy Notice, which apply regardless of beta status.
3. Accounts
- You must be 18 or over to hold a Prifio account.
- Accounts are for guardians only. Your child never has their own account, login, or credentials.
- When you tell us your legal role in relation to a child (for example, parent or legal guardian), we record what you tell us and expect it to be truthful. We don't independently verify family law relationships, and we don't adjudicate disputes between guardians (see section 4).
- Where a child has more than one guardian on the account, each principal guardian stands as an equal — no guardian has senior authority over another within Prifio.
- You're responsible for keeping your own sign-in secure: use a strong, unique password, and enable two-factor authentication if you can.
4. Your child's profile
Your child's profile is created and controlled by their guardian(s) — never by the child. What we collect, why, and how long we keep it is set out in full in our Privacy Notice; these terms don't repeat it.
In plain words, the two-guardian rules that shape how a child's profile works:
- Guardians linked to the same child have independent, equal accounts. Neither can see into, or manage, a different family's account.
- If a child has two authorised guardians, one guardian deleting their own account never deletes the child's profile or world while the other guardian remains.
5. Acceptable use
Prifio is for personal family use. Please don't:
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service;
- scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from Prifio;
- resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit access to Prifio;
- attempt to access another family's account or data, or any part of the service you haven't been given access to;
- behave abusively towards Prifio, its staff, or its systems (including attempting to disrupt or overload the service).
We can suspend or close an account that breaches this section — see section 8.
6. Content and intellectual property
Prifio's world, art, writing, characters, and software are our intellectual property (or licensed to us), and this doesn't transfer to you by using the service.
Your family's own data — everything listed in the Privacy Notice — is yours. You can export it at any time, using the tools in your account. The export is complete, except that what your child did today is added the next day (the Privacy Notice explains why).
7. Subscriptions
(to be confirmed)
8. Ending the beta or your account
You can leave at any time. Deleting your account is self-serve, from your account settings, and works exactly as described in the Privacy Notice (14-day grace period, then full erasure).
We can suspend or close an account for misuse of the kind described in section 5. If we do, we'll tell you why, and (to be confirmed)
9. Liability
(to be confirmed)
The intent, in plain words:
- We don't try to exclude or limit anything the law says we can't exclude or limit — for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
- During the beta, the service is provided as-is: it's early, it may have bugs, and we don't promise it will always be available or error-free.
- Beyond what the law requires us to accept, we intend to limit our liability to a reasonable and proportionate amount for a free, invite-only beta service — the exact wording needs a solicitor, not us.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
11. Changes
These terms are versioned — the version number and date are always at the top. We'll email every guardian when we make a material change.
